Re: [24hoursofLeMons] Can you stay cool on the race track?

I don't have any decent up close pics Dave,
but you can see one of our teammates (Brian) wearing it in the background in the linked pic

Like I said, I'm going to put together a complete post at the end of next week and put it up, so waiting may be the way to go for more in depth info.

Cheers!

Fred,

Great link, thanks. How about some pics of your homebrew shirt?

We used actual silicone tubing from aquarium airline tubing (it's far softer to wear than the thick vinyl).

Then we used cheap airline connectors with barbs (like you use for air tools), rather than the really expensive plastic connectors (which are likely much better).

Also, the final trick, once it's all mounted and routed,, Block ice, then chips around that, then water.

Cool runnings!!!

P.S. We ran this at Reno, it was awesome.

I just came home from a county fair, and I found the best product for our race team. Although I would love to have an advantage over the other teams, this is just too good to keep to myself. I just bought a fan that runs on batteries, but is still powerful enough to keep us cool on the racetrack. It's a miniature swamp cooler. The company is just starting out, so check out the website at www.myhandycooler. com

I do not work for this company. I saw it, and thought it was going to be a great way to keep me and my drivers COOL at Buttonwillow in August!
Good luck and see you in August! Stay Cool!
