Jay, in the pre-race meeting at T-hill it was announced that any car
stuck off course was going to stay there for a while. Clearly that
isn't what happened. A couple of cars broke down WAY off course (in
the return lanes in the middle of the track for example) and the
yellow flag was still thrown and the tow truck sent out. Definitely
annoying. What's the reason for the change in policy? Just curious.

I second the question. Also, were the penalties for screwing up the race for the rest of us pretty stiff? It seemed like the same few cars kept falling apart...

I think when Jay said stuck off track he meant like tires sunk in the mud. I think dead cars on the course are a safety hazard. As far as penalties for dead...

I buy the safety argument, but why would a car stuck in the mud be any less dangerous than a car broken down off course? -Scott Team Porcubimmer ... kept ... ...

Since LeMons is a road race. Most car do try to stay on the track so a car off in the mud would be more out of the way. That's doesn't mean some other idiot...

Troy is on the right track here. With the speeds we ended up seeing out there, there was only one or two places that really seemed "safe" for a dead car to...

Fair enough. This was my first race at Thunderhill (have raced at AMP 3 times), so the speeds were obviously a lot faster and I can understand the safety...

I know the tow truck guys were busier than they've probably ever been, but they seemed to be much slower than necessary. 1: they always came from the pits,...

How about this?   Do like they do in the *real* F1 races, get several cranes with straps (new regulation for the cars, must have loop that can be used to lift...

Haha no kidding. I was expecting the cars to be pushed off the track like at AMP and I was surprised to see some cars towed off using a wheel lift! -Scott Team...
