--- Hi Amy,

It's amazing the stuff you collect around a barn!
English stiruups ---hmmm?

As individual proects or for clubs one idea that comes to mind would
be book ends. A metal piece caan be attached through the opening for
the treads forming a right angle. This could either be welded or
wired on. If the stirup finish is not to your likeing, they can be
spray painted to match your decor.

Another idea came to me to use them around the stable to hang towels.
using a retired stirrup leather or a peice of colored webbing ane the
original buckle, loop through a 1 1/2 inch ring -- like on halters --
hang up with a hook into the wall. Neat in a tack room, bathroom, or
even kitchen.

Hi Everyone,
I just found this group and looking forward to some more horsey craft
ideas.

I just realized the other week that I've started to get a nice
collection of mismatched english stirrups. These stirrups are all
sizes, shapes, and in various conditions. I'm looking for some
creative craft ideas that I could do or have our 4-H club do.

Thanx!

Hi -

I'm a lurker, but I thought I'd share this with you. I hope it is
okay to say this. I am an artist, and much of my work is with
animals - large & small. I really care about animals and so I am
starting a monthly ezine which will have articles on pets and animal
care - with sections on horses, dogs, cats, birds, exotic pets and
wild animal as well as animals in the news and other interesting
tidbits. If anyone is interested in receiving this, please send me an
email off-list and I'll add you to the mailing list. It is not a
commercial list and will have no ads.

also, if you have anything that you think would be interesting to put
in the ezine, please send it.

I hope this was okay to post, it is not a list like this, just an
ezine that goes out once a month. The first issue will be June 1.

Thanks,
Liz Armon

To all family, friends & group members,

I took my kitten Kirra's add out of the paper today for adoption. I received a call from the no kill animal shelter "Save A Pet Adoptions".  Evil cults are looking for white animals, mostly dogs & cats for their sacraficial ceramonies on March 21st. There is also a burst of horrible Pit Bull Bait training going on right now. The horrible owners of this cruel so called sport are taking animals of anykind as training bait for there dogs. All the animals for both of these horrible events are finding the animals under the free column in newspapers & stealing them from yards & are picking up any animal they can find roaming the streets. Please keep your animals inside & walk them outside with a leash on. DON'T LET THEM LOOSE. THE NEXT ONE COULD BE YOURS!!! Please forgive me if this offends anyone, but I think this is important to tell all I can to help our little furry friends. I also understand that there are many good loving people with wonderful Pit Bulls that wouldn't hurt a fly. I am not at all including you in the list of awful Pit Bull owners. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Eileen A. Caprio

Hi

Thank you very much for the welcome! I just joined the list this evening, so
I guess I should introduce myself. I am an artist who loves animals of all
kinds. I paint in watercolor, oil, pastel and acrylic. I mostly do
commissioned work, but I want to get started doing some work to sell
outright. I am planning to put some paintings on eBay. I'll let you know
when I do.

My website is http://www.APortraitForYou.com if you would like to take a
look. I have paintings of dogs, cats and horses there.

I really don't have much to say tonight, since I don't know what's going on
on the list. Thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself, I look forward
to hearing from everyone.

Judi, I've done it without the fabric medium. I usually buy Delta
paint and it NEVER washes out. I've heard it suggested to wash it in
vinigar ... but I've never done it. Just painted and left it for a
day to cure. I've even used bleach and it's never come out. Good
Luck Trying it!!

Thanks Ann...

A friend who is a lawyer telephoned me tonight. While discussing making
T-shirts she told me that she has a friend who used to professionally make
T-Shirts and they still have the equipment for silk screening. But they no
longer use it.
(Isn't God Awesome)
She gave me his telephone number and told me to call him. If nothing else
he can teach. But.... perhaps he will just sell me his equipment as well
:-)

I just want to print on material... but I want to do large quantities. ie;
30-40 shirts a time.

Yet... I am still interested in airbrushing....

Thanks :-)

Airbrushing .... you'll need the equipment and some practice. Best
way to go with doing quantities, best to go with silk screening. See
if you can find someone in your area to help you set up. You can make
the frames yourself ....... commercial equipment will cost ya.

Thanks everyone for your help......

What is the difference between "airbrushing", and all of the methods of
getting art onto fabric ?
And, what is the best method if you want to make things in larger
commercial quantities, for re-sale,..but not a whole manufacturing line ?

Thanks :-)

Denise

Denise ... you can use tole paints. They are a bit thick, so you can
add fabric medium to it. But I've used it just as is and believe me
it NEVER comes off. You'll find that out if you accidently get any on
your clothes. I have a light grey sweatshirt that I must have done at
least 10 years ago. It's only a barn shirt now, but the painting is
still as good as new. Just don't put it on thick, or it'll crack. If
you're near a decent store, buy the fabric medium.

Hope this helps
Ann

Denise,
There is several brands of paint out with the fabric medium already in it. Check at your local craft stores.  Or you can use any kind of craft paints and get a bottle of medium and mix in it.  It will say Fabric Medium for painting on cloth.

Can anyone help me.

I want to paint on clothing that will then be washed. (T-Shirts
etc)What type of paint should I use to ensure that the painting will
neither fade, peel off or self-destruct in the washing machine ?

Thanks :-)

Dear Fellow Horse Lovers,

I thought you might be interested in displaying your enthusiasm for horses when sending out e-mail messages.

If you're a user of Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express you can download this free e-mail stationery in just a few minutes.

It's available at www.stationerycentral.com.  When you download it you can personalize it however you'd like - on this particular e-mail I added "Holiday Greetings" and my name.

Once you've downloaded it, you just compose your e-mail messages the same as always - it's really easy!

There's a special feature to it - the picture changes on a daily basis - automatically.  So you're really downloading a whole "line" of e-mail stationery.

The stationery will show up in this attractive format to almost everyone you send messages to.

I really think that this is something that we all can enjoy using - you can even use it to post to your eGroups if you want.  Thanks.

Kind Regards,

Bob Luetkens

Hi Everyone,
I guess you have all noticed I have been off
the web for a while, that is because my computer
picked up a virus. It destroyed the drive and a few
other components. We had them replaced and are up and
running again. The virus is called Snow White and the
Seven Dwarfs. It has a body message about Snow White
and her Dwarfs. It doesn't activate when you read the
message, but when you access you address book. It then
Attaches itself to each address then mutates to
destroy the different typed of virus detectors, and it
won't lit you access a virus detector when you log on.
I will have more on it tomorrow. Please don't open
anything about Snow White. And if Your computer is not
letting you log on correctly and you have to take a
back door like I did, let me know. My Internet
provider might have some answers for you.
You all know where to reach me.
Thank you.
      Love, Eileen
