I am a Canadian 4H craft leader. This weekend is our "County"
competition. We went last night to get set up for the craft & sewing
competition. I really had to laugh when I put our group's items out.
Over 50% of the items are "horsey". Some of the items we had were a
grooming apron, lampshade with a cutting horse & cow cut into it,
stencilled trivet depicting a quarter horse, tole painted pencil
holder, leather bridle, English show collar, beaded western hatband,
candle with horse on it, christmas ornaments and an etched glass cake
plate & cover. The cake plate had a beautiful chinese style horse and
the cover was ringed with little horses & symbols. Amazingly
detailed.

We find out tomorrow morning how the kids did, but win or lose, I was
really quite proud of their entries. Except for the mess they usually
make of my house, I really love seeing what they can do.
